Somehow, we still have 9 ppd. Which is very good by the standard of most non-Gralan nations. How the PRH we got it, I don't know.

Yeah, I have no idea. And yet this post adds to the general insanity and so I make it gladly!

Universalis says we approached them about a merger... Who did that? I want to kiss them.

I didn't. They could join us if they really wanted, but I have no interest in a merger on equal terms. We are the mighty flying islands, and we shall remain as such.

I asked Ryan about it in a very "hey, what if" sort of way. Nothing solid at all. He gave me kind of a blow-off answer, saying he didn't feel the countries were really compatible and that he didn't care if Universalis was inactive. I said okay and haven't given it a second thought. This was about a week and a half ago.

So... he didn't agree?

I suspect his answer was thus

So, he's having second thoughts? Hah! Still, he doesn't seem convinced. Oh well. I'm okay with not giving this another thought.

Really? I was unaware you Aussies had ever heard of Mountain Dew.

I used to see it around, not that often now, though.

I find it funny that after a day of total inactivity, right after a spurt of activity, 50% of the posts are in 'We're not dead yet!'

Question: What exactly is in Universalis besides Ryan? I get the idea that they like technology and they seem largely inactive, but what's the point?

There's Fides... It's kind of a fun look at space and tech. We talk a lot about science in the news and developing Micras tech.

I wasn't blowing you off, Harvey. I apologize if that's what it seemed like I was doing. Expressing things over the internet can be difficult at times; especially when trying to translate ones internal emotions to words.

At the time we had Dr. Q, who was very active, and then promptly disappeared.

The point of Universalis is to brainstorm new technology and support/promote humanitarian ideals across Micras, and was, more or less, an attempt at a sci-fi/futuristic micronation; hence all the SMAC stuff. I'm very irked that it has fallen into inactivity since I spent the better part of a month negotiating to get our historical land back, and outside of the PRH, it's been my favorite project. Unfortunately, I've just started working two jobs, and have had little time to dedicate to micronations as a whole lately.

If Nelaga isn't interested in the merger anymore, I won't bring it up again.

It's not that we aren't interested in working with Universalis as such; its more that we'd like to know whether such a merger would actually gain us active citizens; or would be more keeping hold of land for you.

Well, at least that's the way I view it. (I'd also prefer that it was Universalis becoming part of the Nelaga Territories and not the sort of merger where we'd need to change our name or anything, but that may just be me).
